Collateral Management Agreements (CMA):

• The services constitute a method to secure loans using physical commodities as collateral and consist mainly of approving storage facilities, taking control of these facilities, receiving goods into them and keeping these goods under our control until we are instructed to release them as per the terms of the relevant Collateral Management agreement.
• Collateral Management services facilitate borrowers who wish to physically trade goods and increase volumes on the one hand, and enable lenders to control risk on the other.
• A Collateral Management agreement is formed between the financing party, the borrowing party or the owner of the commodities and FABER, as collateral manager. Collateral Management provides greater flexibility for import and export trade.

• With FABER as Collateral Manager by observing the industry from up-close, it mitigates the lenders risks, by notifying the changes in the industry, and reducing other risks, Collateral Management may at times lower the financing spread applicable to a transaction.

Risk Measurement

• Collateral Management is a recognized risk mitigation mechanism under the Bank for International Settlements Basel II accords.

Trade Goods and Control Risk

• A CMA allows you to secure a loan using physical commodities as collateral. It is a three-party agreement among you (the product owner/borrowing party), FABER  (the collateral manager) and your credit institution. Under a CMA, FABER acts as the custodian of your commodities until you meet the requirements of the financial institution. We control the delivery of your goods to our site and the final sale/export according to contract terms and instructions.
• Under a CMA, we maintain and protect your cargo in our storage facilities following strict internal FABER standards. We secure legal control of the storage facilities by leasing the premises from the owner.

• FABER daily collateral inventory reports provide you exact and reliable detailed reports on sight.

Trade Goods and Control Risk :

• Upon receiving your commodity, we provide you with non-negotiable warehouse receipts stating that the goods specified will be delivered to you or to another named person. We can also provide title document of ownership if required.

• FABER Collateral Management, stock monitoring and cargo-guarantee services provide you with the solutions you need to reduce your operating risk and improve profitability. We ensure that the quantityand/or quality of goods you store or ship comply with contractual requirements. FABER certificates are recognized in the international financial community and throughout the industry. Our services are available globally to producers and shippers of bulk, bagged, steel and scrap to help maximize operations and reduce your financial risk.
• FABER takes continuous possession and responsibility for your cargo while it is in storage. We guarantee the cargo’s weight upon delivery, eliminating your risk of shrinkage and financial loss. If there is shrinkage, there is no financial responsibility on your behalf. In the case of war or political unrest, your cargo is guaranteed. FABER CMAs provide you with additional financial advantages by:
